Fli Trap Active 12 Review

A box that is everything you need in one for a decent bass element of a sound system? N20 Audio takes a look…

This is the Fli Trap Active 12, A 12-inch subwoofer with built-in amplifier. Fli make different sizes of the Trap Active, and there is also a Passive model, a sub and box, but no amplifier. The Active you can pick up around £130 and the Passive around £90. To be honest, it is well worth the extra £40 for the active as you don’t need to find the extra room for the amp.

The box itself isn’t really and box as it has curved edges and finished with a lovely grey carpet – most boxes are black so why not be different? The sub itself can come in different shades of grey as Fli are on there 2-series.

N20 Audio really likes this product, as it gives a punch in a small hatchback and if needed, it’s easy to remove for extra space. To be fair this is quite a small box at H x W x D: 340 x 429 x 500mm so you can still get your weekly shop in.

Now for the power – the Fli has a reasonable amount giving 400 watts RMS for a 12-inch sub. It can also drop to the bass level of 25hz, which is fairly low for a 12-inch. So its range can handle most types of music.

N20 Audio would give the Fli Trap Active 12 inch a rating of 8.5 out of 10
